Our Journey – From Roots to Recognition
AGMECO’s story began not in a factory, but in values.
Our story begins in 1947, the year India gained independence, when a 15-year-old boy, Late Mohan Lal Agarwal, left his small village in Rajasthan after the untimely loss of his father. Carrying responsibility far beyond his age, he travelled to Tinsukia, Assam, to support his widowed mother and siblings
Through the 1950s and 60s, this foundation strengthened as he evolved from a worker into a trusted business partner, building relationships rooted in integrity.
By 1965, the journey expanded into Guwahati with entry into the sanitaryware trade—marking AGMECO’s first step into the bathroom fittings ecosystem.
The 1980s brought transformation. With a renewed vision, the business was rebuilt independently, combining retail and wholesale strengths.
In 1992, AGMECO formally entered manufacturing—turning decades of market understanding into product creation.
Today, with 78 years of legacy and 33+ years of manufacturing excellence, AGMECO stands as a trusted name across India—especially in the Eastern and North-Eastern regions.
From being an OEM partner to leading brands like Hindware, Parryware, Asian Paints, and Somany…
to becoming an approved vendor for Indian Railways and the Indian Army…
our journey has been built on one principle:
We are certified as ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Assurance) by International Organization for Standardization & our faucets have been permitted to use the ISI mark by Bureau of Indian Standards.
Social Responsibility
As a responsible organization we understand that our business exists because of the society and we are not the owners but custodians of the society’s resources. As part of our duty to fulfill social responsibility we have taken following steps:
- We follow stringent environment control by using Effluent Treatment plant (ETP) for treating discharged water from our factory.
- Using Dust suction on grinder and buffer shop.
- Green plantations around work area.
- Creating funds for philanthropic causes like welfare of workers as well as society.
